Cross-post from Discord 🗳│governance which might be a better place for discussion, but wanted to share to @everyone: I'd love to hear everyone's feedback on my pre-proposal for The Livepeer Delta upgrade, which is focused on sustainable public goods funding for the project and decentralization: As it's a long post, here's a quick summary: Introduce a Livepeer Treasury within the protocol. Fund it via our existing daily inflation, with the introduction of a parameter that determines what % of inflation to put in the treasury, before splitting the rest up amongst O's and D's in the usual method. Govern it via a two tier governance system. Tier 1 uses our existing governance to route funds from the treasury into tier 2 entities. Tier 2 entities make proposals as to how they will themselves govern and distribute these funds to end recipients. Example - grants committee. Example - Orchestrator DAO which is made up of O's and uses a Retroactive PGF mechanism to reward O's who have contributed tools, support, or otherwise. Example - VideoBuilder DAO which is made up of the Video Builder role members and uses a Retroactive PGF mechanism to reward application builders and demand side video innovators. Introduce txns to add or remove members to the security committee via governance or remove it altogether. While this is an early pre-proposal, that has a long road of feedback, discussion, and implementation to go before being live, I think it's a big moment for Livepeer. It can create the right financial mechanisms and incentives to make this project the center of onchain video builder innovation, and ensure it's self-sustainable for many years to come.
